City of East Peoria issued the following announcement on Mar. 19.
The City of East Peoria is looking for a Wastewater Class 2 Operator in the Public Works Department. This is an operator in training for a Class 1 operator. This position is responsible for collecting samples, performing quality control tests on lab equipment, monitoring, operating, maintaining, and repairing gauges, pumps, and filters at wastewater treatment plants. Must have a good understanding of treatment systems, regulations and a working knowledge of methods, techniques, equipment, and instruments used in wastewater sampling and analysis. A minimum of a Class 2 License with the State of IL required at the time of application with the understanding a Class 1 test must be passed within six (6) months of hire. A valid DL is required and CDL is preferred. CDL is not required at time of application, but would have to obtain within thirty (30) days of employment. Successful completion of physical, drug screen, and background check is also required. Residency within twenty-five (25) miles of the City limits. This is a union position.
