Town of Cicero Board of Trustees Met March 23.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Board of Trustees of the Town of Cicero met at 10:00 A.M., in the Town Hall Council Chambers, Town of Cicero.

On roll call there were present:

President: Dominick

Clerk: Punzo-Arias

Trustees: Cava, Cundari, Banks, Garcia, Porod, Reitz, Virruso.

Thereupon, President Dominick declared a quorum present and the meeting duly convened and requested that all present in attendance stand and join in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

On motion of Trustee Banks seconded by Trustee Garcia, the minutes of the Public Hearing and Regular Meeting held Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 10:00 o'clock A.M., were approved, the reading being dispensed with, each member having received a copy.

APPROVAL OF BILLS

On motion of Trustee Virruso seconded by Trustee Cava, the list of bills itemized in Warrant #6, dated February 18, 2021, in the total amount of $2,430,348.36, the list of manual checks dated March 5 thru March 18, in the total amount of $48,450.00, and the list of online payments dated March 5 thru March 18, in the total amount of $0.00, were accepted, placed on file and approved for payment; action taken by the following vote:

Ayes: Banks, Cava, Cundari, Garcia, Porod, Reitz, Virruso.

Nays: None.

On motion of Trustee Garcia seconded by Trustee Porod, payroll (Estimated Corporate $1,553,510.84 & Library $26,881.45) was approved for the active employees listed on the printout dated 03-18-21; action taken by the following vote:

Ayes: Banks, Cava, Cundari, Garcia, Porod, Reitz, Virruso.

Nays: None.

By Trustee Virruso:

RESOLVED, that the list of medical claims and the stop loss insurance policy premium for the month of February/2021, prepared by Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Illinois, in the total amount of $1,227,079.04, be accepted, placed on file and approved for payment.

Which was on motion of Trustee Virruso seconded by Trustee Cava, approved by the following vote:

Ayes: Banks, Cava, Cundari, Garcia, Porod, Reitz, Virruso.

Nays: None.

By Trustee Garcia:

RESOLVED, that the list of HMO medical claims insurance policy premium for the month of April/2021, prepared by Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Illinois, in the total amount of $39,449.97, be accepted, placed on file and approved for payment.

Which was on motion of Trustee Garcia seconded by Trustee Porod, approved by the following vote:

Ayes: Banks, Cava, Cundari, Garcia, Porod, Reitz, Virruso.

By Trustee Porod:

RESOLVED, that the life and accidental death & dismemberment insurance premium for the month of April/2021, prepared by Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Illinois, in the total amount of $6,026.42, be accepted, placed on file and approved for payment.

Which was on motion of Trustee Porod seconded by Trustee Garcia, approved by the following vote:

Ayes: Banks, Cava, Cundari, Garcia, Porod, Reitz, Virruso.

On motion of Trustee Porod seconded by Trustee Cava, permission was granted St. Mary of Czestochowa Parish to conduct religious processions on the following dates on the routes outlined in their requests:

Sunday, June 06, from 11:30 AM “Corpus Christi”

Sunday, August 29, from 11:30 AM “Feast of St. Mary of Czestochowa” ORDINANCES

On motion of Trustee Virruso seconded by Trustee Cava, the Ordinance making appropriations for all corporate purposes for the Town of Cicero, County of Cook, State of Illinois for the Fiscal Year Beginning January 1, 2021 and ending December 31, 2021; (2021 Annual Appropriation Ordinance & Estimate of Revenues by Source – Total Appropriation – All Funds $211,203,859.00), was accepted, placed on file and approved for passage by the following vote:

Ayes: Banks, Cava, Cundari, Garcia, Porod, Reitz, Virruso.

Nays: None.

On motion of Trustee Cava seconded by Trustee Garcia, the Ordinance authorizing and approving the purchase of vehicles (Eleven (11) 2021 Ford Utility Police Interceptors, from Currie Motors in the total amount of $410,289.00), for the Cicero Police Department was accepted, placed on file and approved for passage by the following vote:

Ayes: Banks, Cava, Cundari, Garcia, Porod, Reitz, Virruso.

Nays: None.

On motion of Trustee Porod seconded by Trustee Garcia, the Ordinance authorizing and approving the purchase of vehicles (One (1) Elliot HiReach G50F Boom Truck from Power Equipment, in the total amount of $214,185.00), for the Cicero Electrical Department was accepted, placed on file and approved for passage by the following vote:

Ayes: Banks, Cava, Cundari, Garcia, Porod, Reitz, Virruso.

Nays: None.

On motion of Trustee Cava seconded by Trustee Banks, the Ordinance granting a special use permit for the operation of an existing telecommunication facility at 2423 South Austin Blvd, was accepted, placed on file and approved for passage by the following vote: Ayes: Banks, Cava, Cundari, Garcia, Porod, Reitz, Virruso.

Nays: None.

RESOLUTIONS

(“R” 17-21)

On motion of Trustee Virruso seconded by Trustee Banks, the Resolution authorizing the Town President to enter into an agreement with Faust, Inc. DBA ABC Automotive Electronics to provide services to the Town (To install and/or service certain communication equipment for the Cicero Police Department) was accepted, placed on file and approved for adoption by the following vote:

Ayes: Banks, Cava, Cundari, Garcia, Porod, Reitz, Virruso.

Nays: None.

On motion of Trustee Reitz seconded by Trustee Virruso, the Resolution authorizing and approving an agreement from grant funding with the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for the Town (Allowing for grant funding from DCEO in connection with Austin Boulevard Street Resurfacing) was accepted, placed on file and approved for adoption by the following vote:

Ayes: Banks, Cava, Cundari, Garcia, Porod, Reitz, Virruso.

Nays: None.

On motion of Trustee Cava seconded by Trustee Reitz, the Resolution authorizing and approving the lease of equipment and authorizing the Town to enter into related agreements for the Town (One (1) Xerox Office Finisher C8135 from Martin Whalen (COTG) in the total amount of $436.99 monthly; financed through Xerox Financial Services LLC for Consolidated Emergency Response Center of Cook County - 911) was accepted, placed on file and approved for adoption by the following vote:

Ayes: Banks, Cava, Cundari, Garcia, Porod, Reitz, Virruso.

Nays: None.

On motion of Trustee Reitz seconded by Trustee Virruso, the Resolution authorizing and approving an agreement with CDWG LLC to provide services to the Town (Annual licensing of the Town’s email services in the amount of $35,116.00) was accepted, placed on file and approved for adoption by the following vote:

Ayes: Banks, Cava, Cundari, Garcia, Porod, Reitz, Virruso.

Nays: None.

On motion of Trustee Cava seconded by Trustee Porod, the Resolution authorizing and approving an invoice from Occupational Health Center for services provided to the Cicero Fire and Police Departments for the Town (Pre-employment physical testing for candidates of the Cicero Police and Fire Department in the total amount of $10,280.00) was accepted, placed on file and approved for adoption by the following vote:

Ayes: Banks, Cava, Cundari, Garcia, Porod, Reitz, Virruso.

Nays: None.

On motion of Trustee Virruso seconded by Trustee Porod, the Resolution authorizing the purchase of the Town of Cicero’s Liability Insurance with Illinois Counties Risk Management Trust for the Town, was accepted, placed on file and approved for adoption by the following vote:

Ayes: Banks, Cava, Cundari, Garcia, Porod, Reitz, Virruso.

Nays: None.

On motion of Trustee Virruso seconded by Trustee Banks, the Resolution authorizing the Town President to appoint Alliant/Mesirow Insurance Services, Inc. to provide insurance brokerage services to the Town was accepted, placed on file and approved for adoption by the following vote:

Ayes: Banks, Cava, Cundari, Garcia, Porod, Reitz, Virruso.

Nays: None.

President Dominick opened the meeting to the public for their comments.

Resident Debra Fusiak thanked the Town for the gift cards sent out to Cicero Seniors for the Easter Holiday; Police Dept. for keeping the public informed, and Public Works for the great job they are doing!

On motion of Trustee Virruso seconded by Trustee Garcia, the board then stood adjourned at 10:13 A.M. to meet on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 10:00 A.M., in the Town Hall, Town of Cicero.
