Village of Swansea Board of Trustees met June 20.

VI) Mayor’s Announcements/Correspondence
Board President Leopold spoke to Buehlhorn and the Village is close to getting money for the parks from the state. After that the Village can apply for another grant that it has a good chance to get. After that the Board President would like to sit down with the Park Board and figure out what to do.
VII) Village Attorney/Village Administrator-Announcements/Comment
1. Department Head Reports
a. Public Works/Sewer Department
Nothing additional to the written report. Trustee McDonald asked him if the Wolf Branch hockey courts were converted to pickleball courts, and a member of the public said the lines were drawn on there.
b. Police Department Monthly Stats
He hurt his back, so he is not present.
c. Fire Department Monthly Stats
There was a mobile home fire with minimum damage, and it was still livable. Code Red texting is up and running. d. Building and Zoning Department
He has covid so he was not present.
2. Village Administrator
He asked the elected officials if they have filled out their strategic planning survey. Trustee McDonald asked who all was included and he said it was just elected officials. Board President Leopold said they would eventually get input from others.

XI) Old Business
The Village Administrator is still waiting to hear back from Village Counsel about a lawsuit. Trustee McDonald spoke to the Village Administrator about a trailer removed from the side of the road. The Village was supposed to receive the title but Trustee MDonald believed the title was held. Trustee McGuire said the Village got the title and Trustee Lanter said the County website says the Village has the title. The Village Administrator said he will reach out about it.
XII) New Business
The new police dog was present. He was well behaved.
XIII) Announcements
Board President Leopold said the Park Board did a good job with the recent celebrations and the next event is the Halloween Event. Trustee Neumeyer said it is on the 29th of October. The Village Administrator said there is a ribbon cutting on Friday at noon for a business on 208 Frank Scott Parkway. Him and the Board President will be there. Trustee Lewis wants the record to reflect that today is Juneteenth.
