In a social media post, Illinois state Sen. Jil Tracy (R-Quincy) shared her thoughts of her recent visit to Central Junior High School.

"This morning I had the privilege of speaking to three social studies classes at Central Junior High School," Tracy said in a Sept. 30 Facebook post. "These great young men & women are learning about the U.S. & Illinois Constitutions, and I was able to discuss my role in the State Senate, explain how our state government works, and engage in a fun Q & A session. Special thanks to Mrs. Rebekah Wintjen for inviting me. Our future is bright!"

Tracy has remained busy during the last month. She recently participated in a Senior Health Fair that she announced on Sept. 23 via Facebook.

"Please join myself and State Representative Randy Frese this Tuesday [Sept. 27] for a FREE Senior Health Fair at the Kroc Center - Quincy, Illinois," she said in the post. "Several vendors will be on hand where free health screenings and expert advice will be available."

In recent weeks, Tracy has also shared information about the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program.

"The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a federally-funded program that provides qualifying households with monetary relief for their energy bills," she said in a Facebook post, quoted by the Galesburg Reporter.

Additionally, Tracy has been a supporter of the new 988 suicide hotline number, sharing that information as well.

"The 988 Mental Health Crisis Line isn't just for people having a crisis themselves, but also for those worried about a loved one," she told the Reporter.

Tracy's involvement in community programs has ramped up as the November election nears. Candidates around the state have been sharing their endorsements and activities in order to make their priorities clear to the public.
