City of Minonk Finance Committee met Feb. 16.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

CALL TO ORDER: The February 16, 2023 meeting of the Minonk City Council Finance Committee was held at City Hall and called to order by Chairman Jonathan Stears at 5:55 P.M.

ROLL CALL: Those in attendance: Alderwoman Lisa Junker, Alderman R. Ruestman and Alderman Jonathan Stears.

Also in Attendance, City Administrator Bill Moline

REGULAR AGENDA:

City Administrator Bill Moline provided current 2022-23 budget YTD information and items for discussion for the 2023-24 FY Budget.

 Sewer line lining – waiting on updated costs to see if we can do it this FY.

 Need to discuss with Farnsworth the drainage line leaving town to see if there are issues with the size and increasing the size makes sense or focus on issues in town first?

 2023-24 MFT program is being worked on.

 Reviewed equipment purchase list – waiting on updated costs.

o Need to discuss with the High School on diamond upgrades and if they will help fund those improvements?

 Parks and Rec. Committee meeting to discuss needs for the new FY budget.

 Annual increase

o 3% across the board with one time pay out again to help with inflation?

 Discussed Ambulance Department and meeting with MFD to discuss future of Department and how to sustain raising costs and new equipment in the future?

 23-24 ESDA budget request for more cots/pillows & tablet -$1,300

 Committee will recommend holding off on the suggested CPI-W 8.9% water/sewer rate increase and discuss with Council a partial increase.

 Downtown Beautification Program continued?

 Plastic Barricades for downtown – roughly $10,000

 Code book codification needed - $4,000-$5,000

 Need to replace the City Hall message board in front of City Hall

ADJOURNMENT: Alderman R. Ruestman moved that having completed the business of the Minonk Public Works Committee motioned to adjourn at 6:39 P.M., seconded Alderwoman L. Junker
