Village of Bellevue Board of Trustees met May 9.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

I. CALL TO ORDER

The Village of Bellevue Mayor called the Village of Bellevue meeting to order at the Village Hall. He indicated that an audio tape recording was made of all discussions during the Regular Session.

The Meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.

II. ROLL CALL

Mayor Merriman asked for Roll Call Attendance to be taken by Mrs. Pesch.

Present: Trustee Aaron Lannert, Trustee Sandra Cooper, Trustee Judith Wight, Trustee Leroy Wiseman, Trustee Ross Pesch; Trustee Martin Schuettler

Absent:

Also in Attendance: Attorney Lane Alster; Steve Wilson, Village Public Works; Matthew Raible, Village Zoning Officer; Theresa Johanson, Village Treasurer; Susan Pesch, Village Clerk

III. ACTION ITEMS

A. Trustee Wight moved to approve the Regular and Executive Session Minutes held on April 25, 2023. Trustee Lannert seconded the motion.

Voice Vote: All Ayes

Motion Passed

B. Trustee Pesch moved to approve the Bills for May 9, 2023. Trustee Wiseman seconded the motion.

Roll Call Vote: Ayes: 6

Nays: 0

Motion Passed

IV. PRESENTATION FROM THE AUDIENCE

Mayor Merriman thanked the visitors in attendance and gave them an opportunity to address the Village Board.

Mr. Heskett informed Board members that a semi-truck and city bus were driving down Closen Rd. during the Route 116 closure. He inquired about the detour arrows.

V. NON-AGENDA BUSINESS BY BOARD MEMBERS AND VILLAGE EMPLOYEES

Mayor Merriman asked if there was any non-agenda business to be brought before the Board from either Village Trustees or the Village Employees.

Trustee Wight asked Mayor Merriman if he had contacted the state in regards to the gap at the bridge on Plank Rd. Mayor Merriman commented that he would contact the State of Illinois.

Trustee Wight inquired about the residents that need culverts on Anna Rd.

Trustee Wight asked Theresa if she has given an expense sheet for the remodel. Theresa commented that she had given a copy of the sheet with the total expenses to date and said that she could print it again.

Trustee Pesch thanked Trustee Schuettler for his service on the Village Board.

VI. ACTION ITEMS

A. Trustee Pesch moved to approve the Closen Rd. work with MFT Funds. Trustee Lannert seconded the motion.

Roll Call Vote: Ayes: 6

Nays: 0

Motion Passed

B. Trustee Pesch moved to approve the Resolution Regarding Minutes and Verbatim Recordings of Closed Sessions. Trustee Lannert seconded the motion. Attorney Alster commented that the minutes for November 22, 2022 would remain closed.

Roll Call Vote: Ayes: 6

Nays: 0

Motion Passed

VII. ADJOURNMENT SINE DIE

Mayor Merriman asked for a motion to adjourn sine die. Trustee Lannert moved to approve adjournment sine die. Trustee Pesch seconded the motion.

Voice Vote: All Ayes

Motion Passed

MEETING ADJOURNED AT 6:07 p.m.

REGULAR SESSION

IX. SWEARING IN OF NEWLY ELECTED OFFICIALS

X. ROLL CALL

Mayor Merriman asked for Roll Call Attendance to be taken by Mrs. Pesch.

Present: Trustee Aaron Lannert, Trustee Sandra Cooper, Trustee Judith Wight, Trustee Leroy Wiseman, Trustee Ross Pesch; Trustee Paul Eichhorn

Absent:

Also in Attendance: Attorney Lane Alster; Steve Wilson, Village Public Works; Matthew Raible, Village Zoning Officer; Theresa Johanson, Village Treasurer; Susan Pesch, Village Clerk

Trustee Eichhorn stated that he is serving on the Board to support the Community of Bellevue.

Mayor Merriman asked Trustee Lannert to read the Civility Pledge and asked Board members to follow the pledge. He asked Board members to pay close attention to respecting one another.

Mayor Merriman informed Board members that they received an application for maintenance employment. Steve spoke with the applicant today. Mr. Wilson commented that he wanted to hire the applicant for the summer months through mid-August. Mayor Merriman stated that the applicant lives locally and is willing to learn.

Mr. Elsten inquired about no parking signs. People are parking along Closen Rd. Mr. Wilson stated that Matt is taking care of the issue.

XII. ADJOURNMENT

Mayor Merriman asked for a motion to adjourn. Trustee Lannert moved to adjourn the meeting. Trustee Pesch seconded the motion.

Motion Passed
