City of Chillicothe Finance Committee met July 12.

The finance committee met on July 12, 2023, at 4:30 p.m., in the council chambers at City Hall.
Present: Chairman Vanbruwaene, Alderperson Sharp, Alderperson D. White, Mayor Hughes, Office Manager Passage, Chairman Vanbruwaene called the meeting to order 4:30 p.m.
PUBLIC COMMENT
No Public Comment
PURPOSE
Review - Budget 23-24 - Office Manager stated that the Budget Comparison Report for the month of June was sent via email. Expense percentage should be at 16.6%. A few line items are over that percentage. Some are one-time expenditures and a few will be monitored as the fiscal year proceeds. She advised that the city has received the revenue from summer camp. The amount was $59,034.80.
Intergovernmental Agreement - Chillicothe Sanitary District - Office Manager Passage stated that the City has an intergovernmental agreement with the Chillicothe Sanitary District, relating to the billing and collection of the sanitary district fees. The agreement states that the City will bill and collect for the Sanitary District and receive a fee of $2,557.17 a month/$30,868.00 annually for said services. This is set to expire September 30, 2023. The agreement was approximately a 2% increase each year for 5 years. A discussion was held. The committee directed Office Manager Passage to put together a cost analysis and report back to the committee.
New Business - Chairman Vanbruwaene advised the committee that the garbage company, Republic has sent a mailer out to some in Chillicothe. He advised that Republic is the second largest residential garbage company and located up by Lasalle Peru.
Office Manage Passage advised the committee that the tax levy will be a topic at the next finance meeting.
