PEORIA, IL (January 3, 2024)– The city of Peoria has announced that it will be accepting applications for the 2024 Roof Program Lottery. This program is designed to assist low-income homeowners in financing necessary roof repairs. The application period will run from Tuesday, January 16th through Friday, February 9th.

To be eligible for the program, applicants must meet certain criteria. They must own their home and have current homeowners' insurance. Additionally, they must be up to date on property taxes and have no outstanding fines or fees owed to the city. Finally, their household income must be at or below the specified limit based on household size.

"The Roof Program Lottery provides a valuable opportunity for low-income homeowners to address their roof repair needs," said a representative from the city of Peoria.

During the application period, interested individuals can apply through one of three methods. They can submit their application online through the Roof Program Lottery page. Alternatively, they can call (309) 494-8629 to apply over the phone. Lastly, applicants have the option to visit City Hall in person, located at 419 Fulton Street, Room 203, Peoria, IL 61602, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

It is important to note that applying to the Roof Program Lottery does not guarantee assistance. The lottery itself will be conducted online via GoToMeeting on Tuesday, February 13th at 10:00 AM. Participants can join the lottery through their computer, tablet, or smartphone by accessing the following link: https://meet.goto.com/930278829. For those without computer access, there is also an option to call in to the meeting by dialing 1-866-899-4679 and entering the access code: 930-278-829.

"While attendance at the lottery is not mandatory, all applicants will be contacted by City staff in the days following the drawing," stated the city representative. "The list of selected applicants, as well as those on the waitlist, will be posted online."
