The City of Peoria has announced that all non-owner-occupied residential properties must be registered by February 28, 2024. This requirement applies to both vacant residential properties and residential rental properties. Registration forms and additional information can be found on the City of Peoria's website.

According to the announcement, the registration fees for the 2024-2025 period are as follows:

- Single-Family Properties: $75.00

- Multi-Family Properties: $75.00 for the first unit, $20.00 for each additional unit

To register, property owners have several options:

- In-Person: Renewals can be completed by bringing the list of properties to be renewed to the Office of Accounts Receivable, located at 419 Fulton St. Rm. 111. For new registrations, property owners must bring a completed registration form.

- Mail: Renewals and new registrations can be submitted by mail, along with the payment and completed registration form.

- Email: Property owners can also email their property list and/or completed registration forms for both renewals and new registrations. Once the registration is processed, an invoice and payment instructions will be sent via email.

- Drop Box: Property owners can use the drop box located at the front door of City Hall to submit their payment and completed registration forms for both renewals and new registrations.

Certain properties may be exempt from this registration requirement. Property owners who believe their properties qualify for an exemption must email the exempt property address and reason for exemption along with their completed registration form.

Payment for registration fees can be made in the following ways:

- In-Person: Payments can be made at the City Treasurer's Office at 419 Fulton St. Rm. 100. The office accepts all forms of payment. The Treasury's hours are from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

- Mail: Payments by check or money order should be mailed to the City of Peoria, Office of Accounts Receivable, at 419 Fulton St. Rm. 111, Peoria, IL 61602.

- Drop Box: Payments by check or money order can be deposited in the drop box located at the front door of City Hall.
