Mar 22 2024

Today’s #NOFOFriday brought attention to the Rural/Small Department Violent Crime Reduction Program, aiming to enhance crime reduction capabilities in smaller communities. According to a statement, the program seeks to address violent crime issues prevalent in rural and small-town areas.

"If you or someone you know has any interest in this particular program, or if you would like information on other available grants, programs, or the process involved, please do not hesitate to reach out to my office at my website here or call (309) 204-6514," said Rep. Weaver.

The grant, with an award amount of up to $300,000, is administered by the Bureau of Justice Assistance. Eligible applicants encompass city or township governments, non-profit organizations, for-profit businesses, and higher education institutions. The initiative aims to support these entities in their efforts to combat violent crime within their respective communities.
