City of El Paso City Council met May 20:

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

A Regular Meeting of the El Paso City Council was called to order by Mayor Price on May 20, 2024 at 7:00 PM.

Council Members Present: Brucker, Howard, Kilpatrick Mool and Moore. Late: Ragusa at 7:01 PM. Absent: None. It was reported the meeting is being recorded.

Present in Person: Director of Public Services Barry Kauther, Clerk David Fever, Administrative Assistant Sandee Kessinger. Police Chief Joe Montemurro Recreation Supervisor Colton Scott, and Attorney Stoller. Also present: Karen Wilkey, Teresa Gauger, Lisa Hocker and Jenny Kearney as the local press.

Also present by Zoom Application: Names on zoom software were Operations Supervisor Casey Jones and Iphone.

Pledge of allegiance to the flag was recited.

Approval of Agenda: Motion by Moore, seconded by Kilpatrick to approve the agenda as presented. Voice vote taken of all ayes.

Consent Agenda.

Council Minutes: The minutes of the May 6, 2024 City Council Meeting were presented in written form.

Zoning Board Minutes: The minutes of the May 16, 2024 Zoning Board Meeting were presented in written form.

Register of Bills: The Register of Bills in the amount of $ 101,679.92 as of May 20th was presented.

Treasurer's Report: The Treasurer's report for the month ending April 30, 2024 showing investments, revenue and expenses was presented in written form.

Approval of Consent Agenda: Motion by Moore, seconded by Brucker to approve items on consent agenda. Voice call vote taken of all ayes.

Public Comments:

Lisa Hocker spoke of her opposition to overturning current code and to allow chickens in town.

Old Business: None.

New Business:

Purchase of Property: Motion by Brucker, seconded by Kilpatrick to have Attorney Stoller draft a contract for the purchase a 12'5" X 35" square located alongside the rear parking lot at City Hall between the City and Brett and Nicole Tennison The purchase price is to be $1,404.37 plus closing costs. Roll call vote taken of all ayes.

Director of Public Service: Report was presented in written form and he reported demolition on the east Front Buildings of 35,37 and 39.

Mayor's Report: The Mayor had nothing to report.

City Council Comments: Alderman Kilpatrick spoke of the upcoming Memorial Day Holiday, Avenue of Flags and Memorial Service on Monday the 27th at 10:00 A.M.

Police Chief Report: Chief report in written form and he reported all the Flock Cameras have been installed.

Operations Supervisor: Report presented in written form and he reported sand blasting of tower will be done in next week and painting is expected to start then.

Parks and Recreation Report: Report given in written form please summer programs are starting.

Attorney Stoller had nothing more to report..

City Clerk: Had nothing additional to report.

Motion by Moore seconded by Moore to Ragusa. Voice vote taken of all ayes. Meeting adjourned at 7:25 PM.
