The City of Peoria Department of Public Works has announced the reopening of MacArthur Highway, which extends between Moss Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. The highway had been closed since August due to a reconstruction project.

Drivers are advised to exercise caution in the area and remain attentive to the traffic signals that are now operational.

The reconstruction project involved a complete overhaul of the roadway as well as the installation of new sidewalks. The total cost for this undertaking was $1 million.

"MacArthur Highway closed in August for a reconstruction project that included the complete reconstruction of the roadway and new sidewalks," according to officials from the department.
