The City of Peoria has announced changes to the trash, recycling, and yard waste collection schedule due to Thanksgiving. The city's service provider, GFL, will not be collecting these materials on Thursday, November 28. As a result, there will be a one-day delay in the service for the rest of the week.

Residents who usually have their pick-up on Thursday will have it rescheduled to Friday, November 29. Those with a Friday pick-up will see their collection moved to Saturday, November 30.

To ensure timely collection, residents are advised to set out their recycling, yard waste, and trash containers as early as 3 p.m. the day before their scheduled pick-up and no later than 6 a.m. on the day itself. After collection, containers should be removed from the curb or alley within 24 hours and stored in either a garage or alongside a house or garage. It is requested that containers not be left on streets or sidewalks.
