FOIA Request Sent to Woodford County Clerk Regarding 2025 Consolidated Elections Candidates on January 14, 2025

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Woodford County Clerk's office on January 14, 2025. The request was made by us at Peoria Standard, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.

The FOIA request specifically sought records pertaining to the candidates running for the 2025 Consolidated Elections. The information requested included the candidate's name, the date they filed their candidacy, and the office they are running for.

As a media organization, we rely heavily on access to public records in order to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These responsibilities include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.

We continue to await a response from the Woodford County Clerk's office regarding this FOIA request. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
