Kendall D. Drummond, 35, has been sentenced to seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections following a conviction for aggravated domestic battery. A Peoria County jury found Drummond guilty last November after an incident in August 2024 led police to respond to an area hospital. There, they encountered Drummond's then-girlfriend with significant injuries including a broken orbital bone, missing teeth, a broken nose, and stitches near her eye. The victim also sustained permanent nerve damage.

Assistant State’s Attorney Katie Moushon advocated for a lengthy prison term during the sentencing hearing due to the severity of the attack and concerns about Drummond's potential danger to the community. Despite this, the victim expressed forgiveness towards Drummond and requested a five-year sentence instead. However, the court ultimately decided on a seven-year sentence but acknowledged that it would have imposed a longer term if not for the victim's plea for leniency. Under this sentence, Drummond is required to serve at least 85% of his time.
