Peoria man charged with armed robbery and home invasion

Over the weekend, Anthony D. Morris, aged 24, was charged with armed robbery and two counts of home invasion in Peoria, Illinois. According to reports, Morris forced entry into an apartment while armed and stole property from one of the occupants. A detention hearing took place today where the State's Petition to Detain Morris was granted, meaning he will remain in custody until his trial.

The incident occurred on February 14 at the Lexington Hills Apartment Complex. Police responded to a report of a home invasion. Victims reported hearing a knock at their door and upon opening it, they encountered two men, one of whom was armed with a gun. The armed individual, later identified as Morris, pushed his way inside. He reportedly held a gun to one occupant's head and demanded their phone, car keys, credit cards, and jacket.
