Early that same day, LaHood met with Zack Oakley, Executive Director of Rockford Airport, to confer about facility upgrades and expansion. He remarked on the importance of the airport, noting "This morning, I met with the Rockford Airport’s Executive Director, Zack Oakley, to discuss their plans to upgrade and expand the facility. Later, LaHood visited the Pecatonica American Legion and extended gratitude to Commander Marty Stoddard for the opportunity to discuss veteran contributions. He emphasized the role of Post 197 in supporting veterans, stating "It was great visiting the Pecatonica American Legion today!
