Yesterday in Peoria, Illinois, Lamarion Wright, aged 19, received a 40-year sentence in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the murder of Christopher L. Tilman. The incident occurred in September 2022 when officers responded to a shooting on NE Adams Street. They discovered Tilman with four gunshot wounds—three to his back and one to his right arm—and he later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

The investigation revealed surveillance footage showing Wright holding a gun and pursuing Tilman before shooting him. At the time of the crime, Wright was 16 years old and was automatically charged as an adult. In November 2024, he entered a guilty plea for the murder.
