The City of Peoria Department of Public Works has opened applications for its annual Paint-A-Plow Program. The initiative is aimed at local schools, organizations, and community groups who are invited to decorate snowplow blades used during the winter.
According to the department, participants can use their designs to highlight winter themes, school spirit, or other artwork that will be seen by residents throughout the city during snow removal operations.
The program is available to Peoria Public Schools students as well as area organizations and community groups. Once decorated, the plows will be put into regular service for clearing snow in Peoria.
Interested groups must complete an application and waiver by Friday, September 12. Details about the application process and required forms are available on the city's Paint a Plow webpage.
“Through the program, participants get the opportunity to decorate snowplow blades that are used during the winter months. Groups can highlight seasonal winter themes, promote school spirit, or feature artwork in a unique way that is visible to residents throughout the City during the winter,” stated the City of Peoria Department of Public Works.
