Road closures are scheduled around the Peoria Riverfront Museum on Sunday, September 7, from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. for Go Day 2025, an event sponsored by Choose Greater Peoria.
S.W. Water Street will be closed to all traffic between Harrison Street and the entrance of the Peoria Riverfront Museum Parking Deck. However, access to the museum’s parking deck will remain available during the closure period. Liberty Street will also be closed to through traffic from S.W. Washington Street to S.W. Water Street, but access to parking lots at the MAXAM Event Center will be maintained.
Drivers in the area of the 100-300 blocks of S.W. Water Street are advised to use caution and consider alternative routes, with S.W. Washington Street suggested for through traffic.
Parking restrictions will apply on S.W. Water Street from Harrison Street to the entrance of the museum’s parking deck and on Liberty Street from S.W. Washington Street to S.W. Water Street throughout the day.
The MEL lot at the foot of Liberty Street can be accessed via Harrison Street and Commercial Street, but entry or exit directly from Liberty Street is not permitted during this time.
