U.S. Congressman Darin LaHood, who represents Illinois’ 16th district and has served in Congress since replacing Aaron Schock in 2015, recently shared several posts on his official Twitter account addressing legislative achievements, historical reflections, and the passing of a notable state leader.
On September 16, 2025, LaHood paid tribute to former Illinois Governor Jim Edgar. In his post he stated: "Because of his principled leadership and lifelong commitment to service, Governor Jim Edgar remains one of the most revered and respected leaders in Illinois history. It was a privilege to honor his life and legacy on the House floor. Rest in Peace, Governor Edgar."
The following day, September 17, 2025, LaHood highlighted bipartisan progress on healthcare legislation. He wrote: "Cancer doesn’t discriminate, and when it comes to treatment, every second matters. LaHood’s public service follows his victory over Elizabeth Haderlein in the 2022 general election with 66.3% of the vote compared to Haderlein's 33.6%. He continues to serve as an active member of Congress from Illinois’ 16th district.
