The City of Peoria has announced it will host three free Halloween events in October, aimed at providing family-friendly activities for the community.

The first event, Trash-Or-Treat, will take place on Saturday, October 18, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Community members are invited to join city staff and volunteers for a neighborhood litter cleanup. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes. The event will begin at the Campustown Shopping Center at 1200 W. Main Street. Supplies such as trash bags, gloves, and a limited number of grabbers will be provided by city staff. Volunteers will receive Halloween treats as a reward for their efforts. For further details, Kaylee Drea, Community Development Engagement Manager, can be contacted at 309-494-8624 or by email.

The second event, City Hall-O-Ween, is scheduled for Friday, October 24, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Peoria City Hall, 419 Fulton Street. City Hall will be decorated for the occasion, and staff will distribute Halloween treats to attendees. The event offers an opportunity for residents to meet city employees and explore Peoria’s historic City Hall. Additional information is available from Kaylee Drea at the contact information provided above.

The third event, Trick-or-Treat PPD Halloween: A Night of Magic and Mischief, will also take place on Friday, October 24, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Peoria Police Department, 600 SW Adams Street. Families are invited to attend for an evening featuring tricks, treats, and Halloween-themed activities. Costumes are encouraged. The Peoria Police Department can provide more information at 309-673-4521.

"Join city staff and community volunteers for a neighborhood litter cleanup and be rewarded with treats! Costumes are welcomed for this family-friendly event," according to the City of Peoria.

"City Hall will be decorated and staff will hand out Halloween treats to attendees. This is a great opportunity to meet the people who provide services to the Peoria community every day and explore Peoria’s historic City Hall," city officials stated.

"Bring the whole family for a fun evening filled with tricks, treats, and a little Halloween magic. Costumes encouraged and fun is guaranteed at the Peoria Police Department," organizers said.
