Three teenagers will remain in custody as they await trial for the murder of 22-year-old Khmari Davis-Rickmon, following a decision by a Peoria County judge on Friday. Orlando J. Hanson Jr., 16, Jamion L. Irby, 17, and Davieon D. Webster, 16, were charged earlier this week with First-Degree Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Handgun. Due to their ages and the severity of the charges, all three are being tried as adults.
According to authorities, police responded to a ShotSpotter alert reporting 15 rounds fired in the 2300 block of W. Antoinette in South Peoria on October 12 at approximately 1:30 p.m. Officers found Rickmon on the ground with a gunshot wound to the head; he was taken to the hospital but later died from his injuries.
A witness told police that after hearing gunshots, they saw three males—later identified as Hanson, Irby, and Webster—running from the scene into a nearby home. Police detained all three shortly afterward.
During a search of that residence, officers recovered three firearms and collected 15 shell casings from the front porch. Investigators determined that those casings matched the recovered weapons.
The investigation is ongoing. The Peoria Police Department asks anyone with information about this incident to call them at 309-673-4521.
