Fulton Street in Peoria is closed between S.W. Jefferson Avenue and the City Hall parking lot entrance starting Thursday, Oct. 30. The closure is part of the Adams Street and Jefferson Avenue One-Way to Two-Way Conversion Project and is expected to last for three weeks, depending on weather conditions.

Both directions of Fulton Street are affected by the closure. However, access to the Twin Towers Parking Deck and City Hall’s parking lot will remain available. Drivers are advised to use S.W. Monroe Street to reach these locations.

The city has urged drivers to be aware of the closure and watch for workers in the area, emphasizing the need for extra caution.

In addition, sidewalk removal work begins today at the northeast corner of Hamilton Boulevard and N.E. Jefferson Avenue, near 200 N.E. Jefferson Avenue. Sidewalks at this intersection will be closed to pedestrians during construction.

The city reminds pedestrians that when sidewalks are closed, they should use caution in the area and cross streets at the next available intersection.
