The village of New Berlin recently held a special board meeting to discuss the possibility of taking over the management of the village’s Veterans Memorial from a local nonprofit.
The nonprofit organization would transfer all funds remaining for the memorial, which is enough to cover three to five years of expenses. Many volunteers say they are committed to maintaining the memorial for years to come.
In attendance at the meeting were Mayor Steve Frank, Trustees Sharon LaFauce, Diane Payne, Stephanie Snyder and Curt Stephens, and Clerk Debbie Lakamp.
