Barry City Council met March 7 to discuss Allen Flinn's request to have a fundraiser to purchase or build a new stage for the Barry Apple Festival.
He also requested the council to use the pool for the fundraiser, and the request was approved with no objection.
The City Council also approved the estimate for the installation of an outfield fence in the amount of $2,196; received the plan and building permit for Dollar General; approved sponsorship of a team for the American Legion golf tournament; approved bids for Pool Park, Lafayette Park & Library and Holy Redeemer Park; and discussed the resurfacing of Rodgers Street from Main Street to Grand Avenue.
