Guest Speakers

Committee Member Melynda McKeever mentioned the committee previously discussed inviting a guest speaker each month. Talked about inviting the City of Peoria Communications Specialist, Stacy Peterson. She asked if the committee wanted to invite her to next month’s meeting.

Committee Member Amr Elsamny reminded everyone also discussed inviting the Executive Director of City Link to discuss bus operating procedures.

Staff Liaison David Watkins mentioned the idea of inviting City Link was a response to the committee being told about complaints. At a previous meeting, Committee Member Ashonta Huddleston reported she was let off in the street because the driver on a fixed-route bus failed to let the ramp down on the accessible landing pad. Committee Member Kaye Berry mentioned she had received a number of complaints.

Staff Liaison Watkins reminded the members during their discussion they spoke about wanting to have a good understanding of the problems before

inviting City Link to a meeting. He said attending a City Link ADA Committee Meeting was also discussed. Some members thought by going to a meeting the committee could learn more about the kinds of complaints being lodged against drivers of fixed-route and para transit buses. The members could also hear what is being done to address them.

Committee Member Kaye Berry announced she was planning on attending the City Link ADA Committee meeting on Wednesday, June 14, 2017.
