City of Peoria Human Resources Committee met June 23.

Call to Order

Commissioner Patrick Kirchhofer called the meeting to order @ 8:30 a.m..

Roll Call

Roll call showed the following Commissionerswere present: Mark Brown, Wayne Cannon, Farrell Davies,

Patrick Kirchhofer, andJudy Oakford - 5

Absent: Shandra Bond, Amr Elsamny,Brett Kolditz, GregStout, NancyVenzon, JessicaZobac- 6

Council Liaison Present: None

City Staff Present: Kathryn Murphy, Dakota Reed

Others Present: None

A quorum was not present for the meeting.

Old Business

A. Status of 2017 HUD Funding

Thefirst item of businesswas to announce the status of 2017 HUDfunding. Staff Member Murphy

stated there was an increasein funding; the Commission received $23,000 more than expected. This

was within the 5%variance and therefore staff adjusted the grant amounts for eachorganization by the

amount of the increase.

In addition, Staff Member Murphy explained that although the City now hasthe allocation amount, the

organizations cannot be reimbursed until after the City receivesthe funds from HUDlater this year.

B. Discussion on 2018 Priority Recommendations

Staff Member Murphy presented additional data for the 2018 Priority Recommendations presentation

from the Regular Meeting on April 21, 2017. After much discussionregarding these new data, Vice Chair

Kirchhofer expressedhis concern with delaying this processand the pressure it will leadto later in the

year.

C. 2018 Public Service Application and Evaluation Process

Staff Member Murphy presented the first draft of the 2018 PublicServiceapplication and described the

changesthat were made between this draft and the 2017 application.

Vice Chair Kirchhofer questioned if monitoring visits would be scheduled againthis year, asthis was

beneficial for the Commissioners to directly interact with the organizations. Staff Member Murphy

stated that she will begin the scheduling processand havea sign up ready for the July Commission

meeting. Thevisits will bescheduled throughout August and September.

Commissioner Brown askedfor clarification on the timeline of the application process.Staff Member

Murphy stated if the application isapproved by the Commissionat the next meeting, inJuly, it will go to

City Council to be approved in August. Shestated that atentative timeline will be presented aspart of

the application materials at the July meeting.

New Business

Vice Chair Kirchhofer stated there is no new business.
