CEDS:
$ 2 Million EDA Grant for the City of Peoria
o News that the City of Peoria’s CEDS Prioritized Project receives $2M EDA Grant to match
previously awarded $2M IDOT Grant and $1M City of Peoria funding. The EDA and IDOT
grant applications along with the City funds are leveraged by five N. University Street Pioneer
Industrial Park businesses’ projections of 59 jobs to be created, 303 jobs saved and $6M in

GPEDC Update:
Grow Talent objective on October 23 & 24 a GPEDC program titled Job Spark will host over 2,500 8th
grade students to show them 8 different industries they could consider for future careers. Note for
Woodford County, 250 8th grade students from our County will participate in the Career Spark event. It's
possible this number will grow as we are nearly a month away from the event.
Brave Launch - GPEDC assists with the program and collaborates with the Turner Center for
Entrepreneurship at Bradley. 3 of the 9 teams are from Woodford County - 2 from Germantown Hills and
1 from Goodfield.
