City of Canton Board of Fire and Police Commissioners met Nov. 21.

A regular meeting of the Canton Fire and Police Commission was held on Tuesday, November 14, 2017. The meeting was called to order at 1:09 p.m. by Commissioner Mayall.
Present: Commissioner Chad Mayall Commissioner Samantha Norton, Commissioner Greg Gossett Public Safety Director Dick Fairburn
Absent:
Public Participation- none
A Motion was made by Commissioner Norton seconded by Commissioner Gossett to accept the\ minutes of the October 10, 2017 regular meeting. All Ayes, motion carried.
A Motion was made by Commissioner Norton seconded by Commissioner Gossett to accept the October budget. All Ayes, motion carried.
Training certificates: None
Old Business –
Probationary Employees: No report.
Bills: Two bills were presented as follows: To Campion, Barrow & Associates, in the amount of $415.00 for a psychological test for candidate Cody Johnson, and to Terrance McCann and Associates, in the amount of $150.00 for a polygraph test for candidate Cody Johnson. A Motion was made by Commissioner Mayall seconded by Commissioner Norton to pay the bills.
All Ayes, Motion Carried.
Testing Cycles:
With completion of the PD Initial, there will be no more testing to conduct until 2018.
New Business : Commissioner Mayall mentioned that he had just attended the IL Fire and Police Commission fall conference in Chicago, and he found it very informative. He made a lot of good contacts with commissioners from area cities, and he will email out a summary of information to the other commissioners soon.
The Commission decided to enter into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing personnel. Roll Call: Commissioner Mayall – Aye. Commissioner Norton – Aye, Commissioner Gossett – Aye. All Ayes, the Commission entered Executive Session at 1:12\ p.m.
At 1:26 pm, the Commission returned to Open Session.
Having no other business, a Motion was made by Commissioner Norton seconded by Commissioner Gossett to adjourn the meeting. All Ayes, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 1:26 p.m.
