Report: Illini Central spent $11,178 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Illini Central Community Unit School District 189 is up 2 percent from five years ago, according to a Peoria Standard analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Mason County school district spent $10,946 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $11,178 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 810 to 724.

Illini Central's spending in 2016-17 was 14 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
