Report: Canton Union spent $9,020 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Canton Union School District 66 is up 1 percent from five years ago, according to a Peoria Standard analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Fulton County school district spent $8,970 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,020 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 2662 to 2573.

Canton Union's spending in 2016-17 was 30 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
