Report: Central spent $7,678 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Central School District 51 is up 4 percent from five years ago, according to a Peoria Standard analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Tazewell County school district spent $7,417 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $7,678 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1223 to 1364.

Central's spending in 2016-17 was 41 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
