Report: Washington spent $7,425 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Washington School District 52 is up 7 percent from five years ago, according to a Peoria Standard analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Tazewell County school district spent $6,968 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $7,425 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 942 to 951.

Washington's spending in 2016-17 was 43 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
