Report: East Peoria spent $16,198 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at East Peoria Community High School District 309 is up 30 percent from five years ago, according to a Peoria Standard analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Tazewell County school district spent $12,469 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $16,198 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1160 to 1020.

East Peoria's spending in 2016-17 was 25 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
