Report: South Pekin spent $8,818 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at South Pekin School District 137 is down 4 percent from five years ago, according to a Peoria Standard analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Tazewell County school district spent $9,146 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,818 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 214 to 226.

South Pekin's spending in 2016-17 was 32 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
