Graduates earn 1,880 degrees, certificates from Illinois Central College

About 39.2 percent of the 1,880 degrees and certificates handed out by the Illinois Central College in 2016-17 were to students in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Peoria conferred 737 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. Data shows the school gave out 640 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies, followed by 318 certificates in Nursing Assistant/Aide and Patient Care Assistant/Aide and 97 associate's degrees in General Studies.

The college enrolled 9,290 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
