As the representative for the Quincy Veteran's Home, Sen. Jil Tracy (R-Quincy) appropriately expressed gratitude to the Armed Forces.
"Going into the Memorial Day weekend, I would like to thank all of the men and women who serve our country and certainly we want to honor all those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice," Tracy said at the May 25 Senate floor debate.
Though the legislature was scheduled to meet over the weekend, Tracy invited lawmakers to a special event.
Rep. Jil Tracy
"For those that are staying the weekend, or your family is coming here, I would like to extend an invitation on behalf of my family...our son Mark Tracy will be ordained a Catholic priest tomorrow at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral here in Springfield," Tracy said proudly.
Again, Tracy gave respect to veterans.
"Most important is to keep our focus on Memorial Day," Tracy said.
