Cost of college went up for all students at Methodist College

Tuition and fees rose 0.2 percent for 2017-18 at Methodist College, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

Illinois students paid $20,750 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year $40 more than the $20,710 charged for 2016-17.

Data shows 89 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 7 students received grants or scholarships totaling $55,925 and 8 students took out student loans totaling more than $77,000.

Including all undergraduates, 384 students used grants or scholarships totaling $2.55 million. Another 507 took out $4.6 million in federal student loans.
