Forman Fire Protection District responded to 53 calls in 2017 - 43.2 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Forman included 48 fires - 13 structure fires, eight vehicle fires and 27 other fires.

In all, the department saw $240,260 in fire loss - or about $5,005 per fire.

The department also received five false calls, including one malicious call and four other false calls.

The calls resulted in two civilian fire-related injuries and two civilian fire-related deaths.

The Forman Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $587,557 in 2017.
