City of Chillicothe issued the following announcement on Aug. 13.
The City of Chillicothe is requesting bids to acquire from the City two parcels of property to
be subdivided from the City owned property at the southeast corner of Birren Ave and Wilmot St,
Chillicothe, IL (PIN: 05-20-176-001). The two parcels to be sold will be off the south end of the
above described City owned property, each with 60 feet of frontage on Birren Ave and a depth of
approximately 132 feet, and are unimproved. The property is currently zoned I-1, Light Industrial
District, but will be rezoned to the R-1, One-Family Residential District prior to sale.
The minimum purchase price is $19,000.00 per parcel. The City will convey the parcels
“AS-IS” and subject to all general real estate taxes due and payable now or in the future and any and
all encumbrances, conditions, restrictions and matters affecting title. Bidders may bid on both parcels
or either parcel separately.
Bids should be submitted in writing to the office of the City Clerk, 908 North Second Street,
Chillicothe, Illinois 61523, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on or before September 14,
2018. Bidsshould specify whether the bid is for the north parcel, the south parcel or both parcels, the
proposed purchase price and the details of the proposed use of the parcel or parcels. Bids will be
opened and considered at the regular meeting of the Chillicothe City Council on September 24, 2018
at 7:00 pm at Chillicothe City Hall, 908 N. Second St, Chillicothe, IL. The City reserves the right to
reject all bids.
