City of Peoria Police Department issued the following announcement on Aug. 15.
The annual Maui Jim/Friendship House Race will be Thursday, August 16, 2018. The race will
start at 6:00 pm, and the walkers will start at 6:10 pm on Altorfer at Allen Road. The race will
proceed east on Altorfer to Industrial Drive, north on Industrial Drive to Townline, U-turn at
Townline and head back south on Industrial to Pioneer, take Pioneer north to Townline, U-turn at
Pioneer and head back south to Altorfer, and then turn west in the driveway behind the old
Shopko store, and head to the finish line.
The following intersections will be impacted (6:00 pm – 7:30 pm):
• Altorfer & Allen
• Altorfer & Industrial
• Townline & Industrial
• Townline & Pioneer
• Altorfer & Harker
• 8800 Industrial
If you plan to travel in these areas, please allow extra time to reach your destination. Please be
aware of increased pedestrian traffic.
