According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 568 students during the year. That equates to 29.4 percent of the 1,935 students enrolled.
Students were expelled for 11 incidents with drugs, three incidents with unspecified reasons and one incident with a dangerous firearm weapon.
Of the 553 out-of-school suspensions, 407 were given to boys and 146 were given to girls, all of whom were high schoolers.
The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 496 incidents. There were 33 incidents of drugs. For 403 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
