Munchkinmascarade

Canton City issued the following announcement on Oct. 11.

Canton Main Street's Munchkin Masquerade offers Families and children safe trick-or-treating fun throughout the downtown area , a tradition that has spooky decorations, hay rack rides, hay bale maze, games, a dance performance, and "Monster Mash" music throughout Jones Park.

Free candy for the children, music, entertainment and an all-around funtastic celebration! Merchant's all over the immediate downtown area will be participating and a few businesses joining us from outside the downtown area. Admission is free and open to the public. Bring your costume, your kids, and your sweet tooth. Free and open to the public.

Those who choose to be a part of the Howl-oween Pet Parade are encouraged to dress up their dog in a costume and we encourage family members to dress up and escort their furry family member. At 4:45 pm the owners and their dogs will parade around Jones Park right before the Munchkin Masquerade. This parade is not a contest; it’s just for fun this year and no cost to participate. Meet on Chestnut Street sidewalk under the large murals (back side of the former JcPenny’s building) between 4:15 and 4:30 pm. There are rules that have been created for the Howl-oween Pet Parade to be sure this new event is a success. Some rules include all dogs must be on a leash at all times, you must clean up after your pet messes, pets must be well behaved or they will be asked to leave.
