Canton Area Chamber Of Commerce issued the following announcement on Oct. 11.
The Canton Area Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee and the Fulton County Farm Bureau Legislative Committee are co-sponsoring a “Meet the Candidates” event on Thursday evening, October 25, at the Donaldson Center in Wallace Park beginning at 6:30 p.m. The Center is located at 250 South Avenue D in Canton. Federal, state, and county candidates running in the November election have been asked to speak, and the public is invited to hear their ideas and platforms. Candidates will each be given three minutes to make a statement to the audience.
A number of questions will be posed to candidates by moderator Kevin Stephenson. Because of the number of races and candidates involved in the upcoming election, the question-and-answer portion of the program will be limited. If not all candidates for any of these offices attend or for uncontested races, we may elect to drop the question-and-answer segment for that race.
Light refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the event, and audience members will have the opportunity to visit with candidates. The program will be aired live on radio station WBYS 1560-AM, and will also be videotaped for broadcast on cable access television in Canton, Cuba and Lewistown.
