Marshall County voted "no" to two referendums on the Nov. 6 ballot. Here are the measures they voted against:
Taxpayers in Marshall County voted against a referendum calling for a decision on Fieldcrest Community Unit School District 6.
"Shall the Board of Education of Fieldcrest Community Unit School District Number 6, Woodford, LaSalle, Livingston and Marshall Counties, Illinois, build and equip a school building located in Wenona, Illinois, demolish a portion of the existing Fieldcrest Middle School Building, build and equip a school building located in Minonk, Illinois, demolish the existing Fieldcrest High School Building, improve school sites and issue bonds of said School District to the amount of $29,000,000 for the purpose of paying the costs thereof?"
With 100 percent of votes counted, Fieldcrest Community Unit School District 6 had 309 votes in favor and 776 against.
Taxpayers in Marshall County voted against a referendum calling for a decision on the city of Toluca.
"Shall the maximum rate at which the City of Toluca may levy a police protection tax under Sections 11-1-3 and 11-1-5.1 of the Illinois Municipal Code be increased from .075% to .60% of the value, as equalized or assessed by the Illinois Department of Revenue, of all taxable property in the City, beginning with tax year 2018 (payable 2019)?''
With 100 percent of votes counted, the city of Toluca decision had 165 votes in favor and 311 against.
