Report: Central spent $7,429 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Central School District 51 is up 3.1 percent from five years ago, according to a Peoria Standard analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Tazewell County school district spent $7,204 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $7,429 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1294 to 1377.

Central's spending in 2017-18 was 44.3 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
