Report: Washington spent $7,044 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Washington School District 52 is down 2.7 percent from five years ago, according to a Peoria Standard analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Tazewell County school district spent $7,242 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $7,044 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 984 to 978.

Washington's spending in 2017-18 was 47.2 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
