Canton City Canton Fire and Police Commission met Jan. 8.

Here is the minutes provided by the commission:

A regular meeting of the Canton Fire and Police Commission was held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019. The meeting was called to order at 1:02 p.m. by Commissioner Mayall.

Present: Commissioner Chad Mayall, Public Safety Director Dick Fairburn, Commissioner Greg Gossett

Absent: Commissioner Samantha Norton

Public Participation- none

A Motion was made by Commissioner Gossett seconded by Commissioner Mayall to accept the Minutes of the December 11 and December 18, 2018 regular meetings and the December

Budget. All Ayes, motion carried.

Training certificates: No certificates were presented.

Old Business –

Probationary Employees: PS Director Fairburn reported that the two new firefighters just started work and will be reporting to the fire academy next Monday.

Bills: A Motion was made by Commissioner Gossett seconded by Commissioner Mayall to pay the following bills:

To IWIRC in the amounts of $ 681.31 and $685.99 for physical testing for candidates Chenoweth and Fults; To Terrance McCann & Associates in the amount of $ 150.00 for polygraphs for candidate Wenger. All Ayes, Motion carried.

Testing Cycles: All testing cycles are completed for now, but the commission will get started on the Police Lieutenant Promotional, since several months is needed for study time prior to testing.

New Business : None.

Having no other business, a Motion was made by Commissioner Mayall seconded by Commissioner Gossett to adjourn the meeting. All Ayes, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 1:10 p.m.
