CANTON CITY: Clean Up Week Scheduled for June 24-29

Canton City issued the following announcement on June 10.

The City will provide dumpsters at the City maintenance garage on West Locust Street. Residents of Canton (identification will be required) may bring items to dispose of during these hours:

M-F (June 24-28) from 7:30am-5:00pm

Saturday (June 29) 8:00am-4:00pm

The following restrictions still will apply, however. The City will not accept household appliances including microwaves or electronics, televisions, computers, or monitors. They also cannot accept environmental waste, such as tires, oil, batteries, or paint. Lastly, they will not pick up yard waste or construction materials.

City personnel will be on hand to monitor and check identification.

The Fulton County Health Dept. is an IEPA-registered drop-off site for electronics. Residents should call ahead (647-1134) for times and instructions.

Goodwill will also accept computer-related electronics at their drive-up donation door on North Main Street. Goodwill cannot accept non-computer related electronics, such as televisions, microwaves, and other small appliances.
